The Fendsbacher Hof Cup, which FC Langengeisling organized for the first time, was an all-round success.

Langengeisling

– In the end, the organiser, who had sent their second team into the race, had to settle for second place behind FC Erding.

But the real winner was the Fendsbacher Hof, a facility for people with disabilities.

"By organizing the cup tournament and the partnership with the Fendsbacher Hof, we want to help ensure that more attention is paid to the facility," says Maxi Maier, the sporting director of FC Langengeisling.

"But we also want to live inclusion in the club."

The games were played twice for 30 minutes each.

FC Langengeisling 2 opened the tournament with a 4:3 win against SpVgg Eichenkofen.

Three goalscorer for Geislinger was Rene Mecking, who converted two penalties, among other things.

But the Eichenkofeners also sunk a penalty.

The second game between SC Kirchasch 2 and FC Erding ended goalless, so a penalty shoot-out had to decide who made it into the final.

The shooters had adjusted their sights poorly.

Since Erdinger had one fewer missed shots, they were in the final.

SpVgg Eichenkofen then grabbed third place with an unchallenged 3-1 win over SC Kirch-asch 2. The final between FC Erding and FC Langengeisling was exciting.

The score was 0-0 at the end of regulation time.

Penalty shoot-outs were announced again – and the Erdinger team won again.

"It's strange: FC Erding won the tournament even though they didn't score a goal," said Maier with a laugh.

“In terms of sport, they were very good tests.

Some players have been on holiday, but that's the case for all teams.

There are a lot of people out and about in July and August.” Langengeisling’s sporting director gave referees Dino Oruc (Türkgücü Erding), Markus Raßhofer (FC Schwaig) and Richard Graf (FC Langengeisling) full praise: “They managed the games with confidence and then they did too nor donated their expenses.”

The supporting program was also very well received, reports Maier.

There were three winners at the shooting range.

FCL kicker Michael Faltlhauser had the hardest shot at 116 km/h, while Antonia Riederle, the sister of FCL player David Riederle, won the women's race at 84 km/h.

And with the children, Severin Mittermeier, the son of FCL supervisor Mario Mittermeier, was ahead at 45 km/h.

These three "snipers" received vouchers for the FCL fan shop.

The bar truck and the grill specialties from the butcher Holzer from Pastetten were also well received, emphasizes Maier.

He sends special thanks to the sponsors Autohaus Maier, World of Less Maxi Pichlmair, Hörl Forstbetrieb Erding, Kaiser Kies und Sand and the practice Dr.

Julian Bloch in Erding.

The FCL used the money to buy warm-up jerseys and sweaters for its men's teams.

"The great thing is that the sponsors have forgone their advertising, the Fendsbacher Hof is on it," says Langengeisling's sporting director.

"We can use this to advertise the facility."

Of course, a delegation from the Fendsbacher Hof also watched the tournament, led by the deputy facility manager Wolfgang Erl. "It's a huge story, we were very happy about it," he said.

"We hope for attention and hope above all that we will recruit new employees."

The Fendsbacher Hof in the municipality of Pastetten belongs to the Steinhöring facility association.

"We used to have between six and ten volunteers, I was a volunteer in Fendsbach myself," Erl recalls. "But now we're desperately looking for support staff - even part-time." And he adds: "We got all of that Guttenberg got involved.” The then Federal Defense Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg had abolished conscription during his short term of office from 2009 to 2011, since then there have been no conscripts and consequently no more people doing community service.

According to Erl, the state of emergency cannot be compensated for by the voluntary social year (FSJ). "We urgently need supervisors," he appeals and hopes that a tournament like the Fendsbacher Cup will draw more attention to the facility.

The Fendsbacher Hof will also soon be able to look forward to a monetary donation from FC Langengeisling.

"We don't have a fixed sum yet, but the entry fees alone have already raised 400 euros," reports Maier, who is pleased "that the tournament has been so well received and well received".
