Spanish mountain star Kilian Jornet won the Mont-Blanc ultra-trail (UTMB) on Saturday in the record time of 19 hours 49 minutes, and signs his fourth success in the event, now tied with Frenchman François of Haene.
The Catalan, followed for a large part of the course by the French Mathieu Blanchard, widened the gap over the last twenty kilometers.
He is the first to go below the 20-hour mark in this mythical trail event.
The previous record was held by his compatriot Pau Capell (20 hours 19 minutes in 2019).
