That was something to be proud of: SC Riessersee successfully played its first friendly.

The White-Blues won 5:2 against the Hanover Indians.

Alexander Höller in particular stood out at the SCR.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen –

One never commits oneself too early in life.

This applies to all areas and accordingly also in sports, especially at the very beginning of a season.

But the first internal team title of the season at SC Riessersee can confidently be awarded.

Yes, after the first friendly.

Yes, after the player's first appearance ever for the white-blue.

We're talking about Alexander Höller, the rascal of the SCR.

Two resourceful goals of access from the Starbulls Rosenheim

In the first friendly match – although friendship on the ice could hardly be spoken of – the Garmisch-Partenkirchen player against the Hanover Indians knew how to put himself in the limelight.

The entry from the Starbulls Rosenheim marked two hits of the cunning, the resourceful kind in the 5: 2 success of the hosts.

His first was the second of the white-blues.

Höller allowed himself a little flirtation with his opponent in front of the Indians box, then he slipped slightly next to the goal, his opponent watched the game.

He saw Robin Soudek pull away and then use Höller's rebound.

The Hanoverian was briefly distracted – 2:1 for the SCR.

Gate number two was even more savvy.

Despite being outnumbered 5:3, Hannover didn't manage to equalize.

The last second of the penalty time for the hosts ran out, all Indians except one drove to the substitution.

Höller switched at lightning speed, put pressure on the puck leader, stole the puck from him and made it 3:1.

Truly a rascal.

Assistant coach Anton Raubal commented: "It sometimes looks unorthodox with him, but he knows where he is and what he has to do."

SCR: Partly bumpy, partly worth seeing

But not only the Innsbrucker made a positive impression, the SCR also managed to do it collectively.

From the start, the Riesserseers wanted to show fast, aggressive ice hockey with a certain amount of wit.

That succeeded - if you're surprised in view of the first game - sometimes only semi.

But in many scenes you could see the potential of the team and the individual players.

Sometimes the result was piecemeal, sometimes the timing wasn't right, but sometimes what they had in their heads worked out exactly.

For example at 1:0.

The disc ran fast, clean and ended up with the best placed man, in this case entry Sam Verelst.

Pulled off dry, the 879 spectators – excluding the 25 Indians and ten Bad Tölz supporters – were able to cheer for the first time.

Assistant coach Anton Raubal draws a positive conclusion

That should be the case four more times.

Much to the delight of Raubal: "First third bumpy, still allowed too many turnovers.

But from the second third onwards we were dominant, very keen on running, strong in penalty-killing and showed good ice hockey.

I'm very positively surprised.” Conclusion: That was something to be proud of.

Höller thought so too and left the ice with a mischievous smile.
