Maccabi Haifa's armament campaign continues, and after the addition of the pair of brakes Abdulai Sak and Dylan Batinsica, the Greens made sure to strengthen their offensive part as well and today announced the return of Sof Podgorano, a graduate of the club's youth department who joins on loan from the Italian Spezia.

Podgorano arrives on loan from Spezia, with the Greens having an option to purchase him at the end of the season.

After the signing, the midfielder told the official website: "I am happy to return to Maccabi Haifa, which is my home and the place from which I left for Italy. I really want to experience the crowd at Sami Ofer, the last time I played, there was Corona and it was in front of empty stands. And what I want most is to help the team get the its goals".

The club's sporting director, Gal Alberman, said after the signing: "We are happy about Sof's return to the green uniform. We have followed Sof's development in Europe and in the uniforms of the various national teams and are sure that he will continue on his path of progress in the uniform of the senior team. As you may remember, Podgorano left Maccabi Haifa for Roma's youth team in the summer of 2020 and even got to dress several times in the games of the senior team, but last season he left the Giallorossi in favor of Spezia, in Media he participated in five games in Serie A and recorded one assist.

This season he did not participate even once, and was mentioned as a candidate to leave on loan to Pharma.
