Sof Podgorano officially signed today (Friday) with Maccabi Haifa.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who grew up in the youth department since the age of 11 and even made five appearances for the senior team in the 19/20 season, returns to his youth team.
As you remember, at the end of that season, Podgorano moved to Italian Rome and then to Spezia from Serie A.
During these two years, the midfielder made two appearances in the senior team and is in the youth team's squad, which will participate in the Euro promotion playoffs at the end of the month.
After the signing, the midfielder told the official website: "I am happy to return to Maccabi Haifa, which is my home and the place from which I left for Italy. I really want to experience the crowd at Sami Ofer, the last time I played, there was Corona and it was in front of empty stands. And what I want most is to help the team get the its goals".
The club's sporting director, Gal Alberman, said after the signing: "We are happy about Sof's return to the green uniform. We have followed Sof's development in Europe and in the uniforms of the various national teams and are sure that he will continue on his path of progress in the uniform of the senior team. Welcome back Sof and good luck!"
