fourths, fifths and sixths.

The season has only just begun, and it seems that the teams of Ivic and Bachar are light years away from their opponents.

Why is this happening?

There is an explanation for this, and you will find part of the answer in Jurgen Klopp

Summary: Hapoel Hadera - Maccabi Tel Aviv 6:0 (Sport1)

During the last few weeks we watched Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Beer Sheva, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Netanya play in Europe.

We have seen teams that compete equally against superior opponents on paper, winning with better quality football and with modern characteristics such as prolonged high pressure, changing tactics during the game and more.

A system that fosters excellence.

Advanced football teams have several characteristics related to the club, the coaches, the training and the level of the players.

the club

These groups are characterized by the structure and function of a club, which understands the significant connection between economics, professionalism and science, with an array of professionals accompanying the coach's work.

The modern club system provides the players and the coach with conditions that exist in advanced soccer clubs abroad. The transformation that these soccer teams are going through in Israel brings, on the one hand, Israeli soccer closer to Europe, and on the other hand, increases the gaps from the rest of the teams in the league.

Trainers

  • The coach works with large and broad teams as exists today in Europe

, each one with his specialty (physical fitness, tactics, consistent scouting, testing a player's game profile using advanced technological means in training and playing, game analysis and more).

  • The coach believes in the importance of teamwork and is himself with less ego.

He is the leader and the work in the team takes shape over the years, therefore it is not surprising to see a coach who moves with his team members to another club.

  • The coach has turned from a conservative to a modern coach,

which means he gives his players playing options/playgrounds that raise internal motivation.

He allows his players to make a self-determination (Self-Determination) and thus he brings out the creativity and intelligence of each player at his level.

  • The senior coach is more intelligent than before.

In training, he asks his players intelligent questions and waits to receive intelligent answers.

He doesn't ask in a scolding tone, "What are you doing?"

or "Why didn't you go with your head?"

  • The coach does not look for power control and threats over his players, but creates empathy and sometimes connects with them on a personal level.

  • He is very curious

    - he is constantly learning and it is important for him to progress in order to promote his players as well.

  • The coach behaves with respect to each of

his players, appreciates and strengthens weak people in the system (cleaner, clerk) and also the players at the end of the rotation.

An example of such a personality is Jurgen Klopp.

  • The coach understands the importance of the player "walking the fine line" of chance/risk.

For example, one that allows players to deliver a deep pass without fearing that the pass will not be successful and without receiving reprimands from him.

This allows more players to dare to take actions and keep trying even if they've made a mistake without being afraid of getting caught on the head.

  • The coach understands that the individual comes before the team

, so his thinking is based on how to develop the individual potential of each player in addition to that of the team.

The personality of the player and the development of his potential is a goal in training and also contributes to the development of the whole team.

the workout

  • The modern training is based on a new training theory,

centered on the development of the brain for creativity and game intelligence.

  • Playing ability is built in training and not only in games (as was commonly thought).

Most of the training is performed with a ball, at a high rate and quickly the transition to "thinking promoters" games is made (not through many repetitions of exercises that are not related to the situations in the game).

  • In training you don't "just run"

    - you train in an economical and efficient way without a ball and with a ball.

  • In training, the modern coach does not talk much,

he mainly "lights a fire" through unique games so that the athlete "discovers his possibilities to produce and does not have to perform closed tasks".

  • In training, principles for high pressure,

especially in situations of losing the ball, are learned and practiced, based on improving the athletes' game intelligence.

  • Dynamic tactical thinking in training while playing,

when there is room for everyone's creativity in every situation.

the players

  • Players with high personal abilities,

versatile physically as well as quick-thinking and intelligent who are busy improving their abilities outside of training and with the help of various professionals.

  • In the Israeli teams, you see more "neighborhood players in the team", and this is a positive phenomenon

if they also have group thinking.

Players who grew up in the "neighborhood" and have the character of "neighborhood kids" are more enthusiastic, create more, know how to deal with technique even without maximum strength and produce game options that others don't think of.

  • Modern goalkeepers are partners in the game not only defensively,

but mainly from an understanding of when to build gradually and when to create speed for an attack.

  • Teams are more homogeneous at the level of the players,

which makes it possible to maintain a pace of play with minimal mistakes.

  • Taking advantage of players' opportunities.

Taking advantage of situations, especially stationary ones, has always been a problem in Israeli football.

Today we see goals utilization percentages like in leading teams abroad, which can balance when there are not enough scoring situations against strong defenses.

The trends in world football are changing rapidly, especially when the game has become more dynamic, and it is nice to see that the leading teams in Israel are implementing and adapting themselves to these changes.

Football is a reflection of society, and this season we see big gaps between the top teams and the other teams in the Premier League.

The league will be divided into two extreme groups at the top and by a large margin from the other groups, both in ability and in points.

In my opinion, the race for the championship will be very close, we won't know until the final stages who will win the title.

Most of the teams in the Israeli league still include conservative coaches, small teams without specialists and a lack of understanding of the main content of today's training: "pace through quick thinking".

I hope that more clubs will see the success of the leading teams, gradually improve and strive to reach them.
