Israeli handball is looking to join the success of the other branches of handball in the country after many years of failures, and is looking for a way to transform the young generation into one that will utilize its potential.
While football, basketball and even water polo are racing forward, handball, one of the popular sports in Israel, is only going backwards.
At the meeting of the handball association that took place this evening (Tuesday) in Tel Aviv, it was decided on an interesting combination that will march the Israeli teams in the upcoming campaigns.
The coach of the national team will be the Serbian Dragan Dogic who will return for another term in Israel.
The coach, who led the English team in the Olympic Games in London 2012, previously coached the Israeli national team and Maccabi Tel Aviv in its record season in Europe and he knows the mentality of Israeli handball.
Sa'ar Frankel was appointed along with him as the team's professional manager.
Frankel is currently coaching A.C. Ness Ziona from the first league and in the past the two coaches competed against each other for titles.
The combination between them, the handball association believes, can finally lead Israel to a major tournament.
