Lost the battle, won the hearts.

This is how you could summarize the event of the Erdinger Kickboxer on Sunday in the Weißbräuzelt at the Erdinger Herbstfest.

Erding – With 12:8 points, the victory went to the visiting team from Hamburg, which had reinforced with a few guest fighters.

But the home kickboxers sold great.

In front of almost 500 spectators, all athletes showed exciting fights, and almost all fights were balanced.

Reza Rezaei (-63.5 kg) started against committed Johannes Leitl from Altötting.

He is German runner-up and fought back cheerfully, but as the fight went on, the better physique of the Erdinger prevailed.

There was a deserved point victory for the Kickboxing Association (KBV) Erding.

With Anna Hofmann (-70 kg) started the first novice for Erding, and right from the start she covered her opponent Sarah Inzinger with a veritable hail of blows.

Everything looked like a premature end, but Inzinger bravely fought back.

In the end, both athletes were exhausted, but there was nothing left to shake off Hofmann's victory.

In the next encounter, the reigning German champion from Erding, Amir Husseini (-57 kg) showed great sport against Tom Ta. Both know each other from several tournaments, and so far the man from Erding has always had the edge.

This time, however, the judges decided in favor of the Hamburger with a 2:1 vote.

In the fourth fight of the day, Paul Kästner from Erding, who placed third at the last World Championships, demonstrated kickboxing to perfection.

Always on the move, from safe cover and with great combinations, he scored the courageous fighting Yousufi Koschan.

The highlight of the day promised the duel between the two eternal rivals from the national team, Tatjana Obermeier and Melda Dursun in the class up to 52 kg.

The original opponent of the Erdingerin had injured herself in training, and so the Deggendorferin Dursun strengthened the team from Hamburg.

The two top athletes know each other from a number of events and fight at the same level, but in front of the home crowd Obermeier didn't let anyone take the butter off his bread.

Despite fierce resistance, she was able to score the clearer hits again and again and finally won deservedly unanimously on points.

In the next fight, two newcomers, Nicco Radde from Erding and Leon Levin, faced off again, but they quickly shed their nervousness and got down to business.

Hamburgers had a slight advantage in the first round, the second round was even, and in the third round Hamburgers were slightly ahead again.

A narrow victory for the guests, but great performances by the two 17-year-olds.

Bashar Radwan and Nico Szüs delivered a great fight.

Both gave nothing away, went very fast and were constantly in a direct exchange of blows.

When Bashar lost track for a moment, his opponent sent him to the ground with a straight right.

But Erdinger didn't give up and was always dangerous.

But of course the victory was gone after the fall.

Emma Winter went the hard way and accepted Hamburg's Aline Sodjinou despite the significant difference in weight.

Expected opponent Camilla Stromberg was out, but Winter was keen to fight her home event.

It was clear from the start that Sodjinou, who is still the reigning German champion and World Cup winner, is not just a passing customer.

Nevertheless, the woman from Hohenpolding was able to keep the fight open at all times and diligently scored points.

At the end of the third round, the Hamburg player's physical advantage gained more and more ground, and in the end a narrow victory on points went to the guest.

The eagerly awaited duel of the "big boys" in the +91 kilo class was a real spectacle.

Dennis Völker for Erding and Anton Holler from Deggendorf made the ring wobble.

The Erdinger hit the first two rounds with good fist work, and the 2.04 meter tall Völker also made good hits several times with his best weapon, the front kick.

When Holler came up a little more in the third round, Erdinger's strength continued to dwindle.

The victory for Holler was rather flattering, which meant the 10:8 lead for the Hamburg relay.

Now everything was in the hands of the only external reinforcement that started for the KBV Erding.

Either draw or defeat for Erding.

But guest fighter Peter Böhm from Augsburg didn't manage to put the strong Felix Dürsen in his place.

And so the defeat of the Erdinger kickboxing relay was sealed.

The organizers Heinz Klupp and Peter Lutzny were more than satisfied.

"Despite all the adverse circumstances, the Erdinger audience stands by their athletes, and all the pairings were worth seeing," emphasized KBV trainer Lutzny.

The next test for the top performers of the KBV Erding is already coming up next Saturday with the German Championships.
