Bayern starting eleven against Stuttgart: Nagelsmann announces “new faces” – Coman is definitely missing

Before the game against VfB Stuttgart, FC Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann already hinted at quite a few changes in his line-up.

A starting eleven return is already certain.

Munich - After the dominant 2-0 victory in the Champions League over Inter Milan, FC Bayern is facing the next Bundesliga matchday.

The Munich hosts VfB Stuttgart on Saturday before the game continues against FC Barcelona during the week.

Julian Nagelsmann already gave details of his line-up against the Swabians at the press conference on Friday and announced a starting eleven comeback.

"There will be new faces in the starting XI," said the head coach.

One of the many positive insights from the game at Inter Milan: The defense was safe in Milan.

So Julian Nagelsmann will probably not think too long about which central defender duo should start in the home game against Stuttgart.

In front of Manuel Neuer, Lucas Hernández and Matthijs de Ligt controlled the action, it is quite possible that the two will also start against Stuttgart.

The coach can't really get past regular players Alphonso Davies and Benjamin Pavard in the outside positions, but a surprise cannot be ruled out.

The situation is different in central midfield.

Joshua Kimmich will be able to play from Tuesday's game despite his black eye. According to Nagelsmann, the 27-year-old has "found his perspective again".

Marcel Sabitzer will have to give way, however, as Leon Goretzka, who has been substituted on three times, is starting this season for the first time.

"Leon will start tomorrow to give him a rhythm," Nagelsmann said at the press conference.

Nagelsmann will also rotate on the offensive, but will be forced to do so.

As the trainer announced, Kingsley Coman was injured in training.

As Bayern later announced, the Frenchman tore a muscle fiber.

Irrespective of this, Leroy Sané was also given a break, so the German national player "will not play from the start because he also gave up against Inter Körner," said Nagelsmann, who listed other options.

"We also have Jamal (Musiala, note), who wasn't under too much stress, we have Mathys Tel, who wasn't under too much stress and Serge (Gnabry, note), who hasn't played that much lately," said the 35- year olds.

Thomas Müller and the recently unhappy Sadio Mané are also hot starting eleven candidates.

Now it remains to be seen who will hold which offensive positions.

The system will also be relevant, in the last two games against Union and Inter Nagelsmann switched his 4-2-2-2 to a 4-2-3-1.

He could return to his usual formation against Stuttgart.

Against VfB, however, none of the players should get the impression that they can rest.

"Anyone who pulls the handbrake against Stuttgart can put on the parking brake against Barcelona on Tuesday," said Nagelsmann.

The competition in the squad is high, and the motivation should remain the same.
