The swimming competitions of the Second Paralympic Games of the Wounded Homeland were concluded today by holding the free swimming competitions for a distance of 100 meters, and the chest and back competitions for the 50-meter amputee, in the Tishreen swimming pool in Damascus.
The gold medal for the two competitions was won by Ali Moussa and Muhammad Jaffan from the Wounded Athletes Team, Omar Al-Abdullah from the Special Sports Team, Mulham Al-Zabadi, Assaf Allawi from the Wounded Athletic Team, and Iraqi Hussein Jassem won the silver.
The wounded Mahmoud Barkawi and two Iraqis, Karrar Ziada and Mustafa Tawfiq, will participate in the bronze medal.
The 50-meter freestyle swimming competitions were held the day before yesterday. The results of the freestyle swimming competitions for the paralyzed patients resulted in Ibrahim Jahjah winning first place, followed by Ihab Al-Azmi and Hussam Merhej. First place in the free amputation wounded category, followed by Muhammad Barkawi second and Abdul Karim Al-Ali third.
