Who storms for FC Bayern against Barca in the Champions League?
Meanwhile, Oliver Kahn comments on Sadio Mané – and becomes clear.
Barcelona – On Wednesday (9 p.m.) FC Bayern will be visiting FC Barcelona in the Champions League.
While the Munich have already drawn the ticket for the round of 16, things are looking bleak for Barca.
Only a win against the German record champions would keep the theoretical chances of progressing alive.
However, Bayern should not do the Catalans the favor of sending a B-Elf to the Camp Nou lawn if they have already qualified.
Which starting XI does Julian Nagelsmann have in mind?
There is a big question mark behind Sadio Mané in particular.
The Senegalese threatens the bank against Barca.
Even against Hoffenheim (2-0) at the weekend, Mané was only substituted on towards the end of the game.
Is Mané only on the bench against Barca?
The question is: did Nagelsmann leave Mané out against Hoffenheim to spare him for Barca or does he simply prefer other players in the Bayern squad at the moment?
In Hoffenheim, Kingsley Coman played for the star newcomer - and did well on the left.
And against Barca?
Nagelsmann only allowed a limited look at the cards at the press conference on Tuesday.
Mané was not an issue.
But this sentence fell to Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting: "I assume that he is ready for the starting XI." It should be clear that Choupo-Moting will play from the start.
No wonder, as he has scored four goals in Bayern's last three competitive games.
But who is storming behind or next to him?
Kahn makes a clear announcement about Mané
It can be assumed that both Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry are seeded.
Both knew how to convince in the end.
Above all, Musiala is considered almost untouchable in Nagelsmann's starting lineup.
That leaves one place left: the left wing.
Thomas Müller made the trip to Barcelona after surviving the gastrointestinal flu, but should initially sit on the bench.
Mané and Coman are fighting for the last starting eleven.
When it comes to the current form, Coman has the edge.
Bayern board member Oliver Kahn did not want to know anything about a crisis at Mané on Tuesday.
"Sadio is a valuable player and he will be a much more valuable one for us in the future," he predicted ahead of the Barca clash.
And: "Sadio played well, he scored his goals."
Commentator legend Marcel Reif had recently struck up similar tones.
He also defended Mané and emphasized at
Bild
: "To fit into the whole, that's the most normal thing in the world." On Wednesday, however, Mané may have to fit in at Bayern-Bank.
