100 residents of Outaf Gaza, Dalit El Carmel and Usafia sat together in the stands of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans in the Euroleague match that took place this evening (Thursday) against Panathinaikos of Greece. The guests came as part of a collaboration between the Department for the Fight against Antisemitism and Community Resilience in the World Zionist Organization and Maccabi Tel Aviv as part of a project for Unity and reconciliation between different sectors in Israel.

"The unity of Israel is important at any time, especially at this time. We thank Maccabi Tel Aviv for the bringing together of hearts that it helps carry out when it takes part in this important project," says Yaakov Hagoel, chairman of the World Zionist Organization.

The head of the department for the fight against anti-Semitism and community resilience, Racheli Beretz Ricks, also thanked the basketball team.

"Maccabi Tel Aviv's commitment to unity and reconciliation between the parts of society is reflected time and time again. We thank the team for taking part in the project and providing a unifying sporting experience to all spectators who come from different backgrounds and cultures in Israeli society."

On their behalf, Yonatan Halimi, the son of the late doctor and kindergarten teacher Sara Halimi, who was brutally murdered in an anti-Semitic murder in France in 2017, joined the fans' stand.

Beretz added.
