Fortuna Düsseldorf achieved their fourth win in a row in the promotion race of the 2nd division.

Paderborn slipped out of the top three after a defeat at direct competitor Heidenheim.

Dusseldorf - Fortuna Dusseldorf and 1. FC Heidenheim emphatically intervene in the promotion race of the second Bundesliga.

The long sovereign SC Paderborn, on the other hand, slipped out of the promotion ranks on Saturday due to the 0: 3 (0: 1) at 1. FC Heidenheim.

Jan-Niklas Beste (35th minute / 90th + 1) and Leopold Zingerle with an own goal (76th) shot Heidenheim to a deserved victory and thus past the SCP in third place in the table.

After 15 games with 27 points, the team coached by Frank Schmidt is one point ahead of the East Westphalians, who have not won for the third time in a row.

Only Fortuna is pushing from behind, who celebrated their fourth win in a row in the 1-0 (1-0) win over FC St. Pauli and are now fifth on points with Paderborn.

Former St. Pauli striker Rouwen Hennings (22nd) sealed coach Daniel Thioune's first win against Hamburg.

St. Pauli have been without a win since the furious 3-0 derby win against Hamburger SV on October 14 and are gradually falling into relegation trouble with 15 points.

St. Pauli also weakened themselves on Saturday. Betim Fazliji headbutted Dawid Kownacki and saw a red card.

In front of 36,430 enthusiastic spectators in Düsseldorf, Fortuna fought passionately and brought victory over time.

Fortuna is still missing six potential regular players.

In addition, Karlsruher SC is slipping further and further down the table after the third loss in a row.

The Badeners also lost to Holstein Kiel 1: 4 (0: 2).

The North Germans, who thus found access to the top third of the table, benefited from an own goal by Tim Breithaupt (16th).

In addition, Kwasi Okyere Wriedt (30th/90th + 2) and Fabian Reese (67th) were successful.

KSC, for whom only Simone Rapp (72nd) scored, is stuck in midfield with six points less than Kiel and 17 points.

The KSC only played the final phase with ten men, as Stephan Ambrosius had to leave the field injured and coach Christian Eichner had already changed five times.
