SC Paderborn slips into a crisis.

On the 16th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga, the Paderborn team lost 2-0 to the bottom of the table, Arminia Bielefeld.

It was the third bankruptcy in a row for the SCP, which slipped to fifth place.

In the southwest derby, 1. FC Kaiserslautern defeated Karlsruher SC 2-0 (1-0) and is seventh.

Karlsruhe is tenth.

In the chasing duel, Hannover 96 prevailed 2-0 (2-0) against Fortuna Düsseldorf and thus moved up to fourth place.

Fortuna slips to sixth place.

There were no goals in the northern duel between FC St. Pauli and Holstein Kiel.

Paderborn started the game badly.

After eight minutes, keeper Jannik Huth came out of his goal and plucked the ball down in front of Bielefeld's Robin Hack.

But Huth was just outside the penalty area.

Referee Martin Thomsen initially overlooked the handball, but dismissed the keeper after the video assistant intervened.

Despite being outnumbered, Bielefeld, bottom of the table, was too timid for a long time.

Only shortly before the break did Arminia play an attack cleanly.

Masaya Okugawa freed Janni-Luca Serra, who made it 1-0 from close range (40th minute).

After that, Paderborn seemed completely insecure and Bielefeld increased to 2:0 (45th) through Sebastian Vasiliadis.

The neighborhood duel wasn't top-class in the second half, but it was still hard-fought.

In the 70th minute, Bielefeld's Lukas Klünter saw the yellow-red card in a confusing situation and also had to come down early.

Nothing changed in the result.

Karlsruhe were the more active side in the Southwest derby at the beginning. Malik Batmaz, for example, shot just over the goal from eleven meters (23').

The home team, on the other hand, was more efficient: Kaiserslautern played four stops forward, where attacker Terrence Boyd got the ball and scored the lead from a tight angle (34th).

It was Boyd's eighth goal of the season.

Karlsruhe then played the game on the atmospheric Betzenberg, while Kaiserslautern defended passionately.

Kenny Prince Redondo made it 2-0 shortly before the end of the game after a pass from Aaron Opoku (86').

In the chasing duel, both teams initially tried to make as few mistakes as possible.

Hannover only became really dangerous in the 34th minute - and promptly took the lead.

After a long throw-in, the ball came to Håvard Nielsen, who took the shot straight away.

Düsseldorf then did a lot to equalize quickly, but Hannover countered ice cold.

A long ball reached Hendrik Weydandt, who crossed it to Cedric Teuchert, who converted easily (43').

After that Düsseldorf played well, but was too careless with their chances.

Both teams found it difficult to get into the game, only towards the end of the half did St. Pauli and Kiel create their first chances.

In the second half, Kiel was the better team, while St. Pauli holed up at the back.

In the end, however, it wasn't enough for Kiel to win, also because Jann-Fiete Arp shot a free kick wide of the target (90'+1').
