The striker, second for the 2022 Ballon d'Or behind Karim Benzema, was injured on Tuesday in the 21st minute of play with Bayern Munich against Werder Bremen on Tuesday evening (6-1).
While the German club had announced a leg injury by being reassuring, the striker would suffer, according to L'Equipe, from the tendon forcing him to miss several weeks of competition.
His package has not yet been announced by the Senegalese Football Federation.
Aliou Cissé is due to announce his list of players called up for Qatar on Friday.
