National coach Hansi Flick has nominated returning Mario Götze and international debutants Youssoufa Moukoko and Niclas Füllkrug for the World Cup in Qatar.

Dortmund's Mats Hummels and Marco Reus, on the other hand, are not part of the 26-player squad that the DFB announced in Frankfurt on Thursday.

The squad is led by seven Bayern Munich professionals led by captain Manuel Neuer.

The goalkeeper is one of four world champions from 2014 alongside Thomas Müller, Götze and Matthias Ginter.

In addition to Hummels, Flick refrained from discovering Robin Gosens at the European Championship.

The ailing Marco Reus is missing, as are the injured Timo Werner and Lukas Nmecha.

Florian Wirtz was also not considered after his cruciate ligament tear.

Lukas Klostermann, on the other hand, is there after tearing his syndesmosis ligament.

Moukoko writes history

Götze is celebrating his comeback in the national team after a five-year absence.

Flick rewarded the offensive player, who shot Germany to their fourth and last World Cup title in the final against Argentina in Brazil in 2014, for consistently strong performances at Eintracht Frankfurt with the DFB comeback.

"We're looking forward to him," said Flick.

Götze played his last of 63 international matches five years ago in a 2-2 win over France in Cologne.

Moukoko, on the other hand, is making history: the Dortmunder, who celebrates his 18th birthday on the day of the opening game, becomes the youngest German World Cup participant.

The DFB entourage meets in Frankfurt immediately after the last league games on Sunday.

A day later, Flick flies with the World Cup team to Oman, where a test match against the local hosts will take place next Wednesday.

A day later we continue to Qatar to the World Cup base in the very north of the country.

On November 23, the national team will start the World Cup finals against Japan.

Other group opponents are Spain and Costa Rica.

The World Cup final will take place on December 18th.
