The correspondence between Dor Micah and Omer Azili (from network 13)
The Israel national team squad for the friendlies against Zambia and Cyprus next week will be announced tomorrow morning and the particularly intriguing question is whether Omar Atzili will be a part of it.
The court next to the football association and the legal department within the football association gave their position on the matter and clarified that there is no legal problem to summon Atzili even though the hearing of his case in the Supreme Court is still ongoing.
As I recall, a petition was submitted by the women's organizations against Azili's subpoena and a hearing by an expanded panel of judges was scheduled for the 23rd of the month, after the pair of games.
The Football Association first sought to understand through the legal bodies whether they are even allowed to invite a player against whom a legal hearing is currently being conducted in the Supreme Court.
The aforementioned answer was received yesterday and it was made clear that there is no obstacle.
At the same time, in recent weeks quite a few news items have been published stating that Atzili will not attend the hearing, at the request of the Supreme Court presidency and that he would rather retire than appear before the judges.
Because of this, and also because this is a very high-profile, sensitive issue, today the association will hold a discussion in its senior forum, at the end of which a decision will be made as to whether Azili should be invited to the two games.
It is not impossible that Atzili will be asked today to clarify whether he intends to attend a hearing in his case at the Supreme Court and based on his answer the decision will be made as to whether he will be part of the national team.
The dilemma has not yet been resolved.

As I remember, in the team's last game in Bloomfield against Albania as part of the Nations League, Atzili received harsh boos from the stands, so the whole thing surrounding him is not something comfortable for the team itself, as it was during the time when Mons Davor played and every time he touched the ball whistles were heard against him.
If the association decides that Atzili can be invited, the ball will go to the coach of the national team Alon Hazan and the professional manager Yossi Benyon who will have to decide professionally, whether to summon the contact.
