Between winning the league and an unwanted visit to his home, the Scottish international fly-half had a special day

There are days like this when everything is jostled.

For Finn Russell (30), last Saturday's is one of them.

The Racing 92 opener put his team back in the saddle during the Top 14 match against Perpignan.

In his absence and that of his family, he was also robbed by an individual who was arrested on leaving his home, booty in hand, as revealed on Thursday by BFM-RMC Sports.

The alleged accomplice of the thief was apprehended on Sunday morning.

After breaking into the house of the Scottish international (62 selections), in Hauts-de-Seine, the suspect came out with “a luxury watch from the Patek Philippe brand and several gold rings.

Also according to the media, he had previously spotted his target on Finn Russell's wife's Instagram account.

She had posted photos of watches and jewelry on the Instagram account.

All that remained was to do some scouting and then clean up.

What the thief did not know was that he and his accomplice had been followed for several months by the crime prevention brigade (BRB) of the Paris judicial police.

According to BFM-RMC Sports, the two individuals had already recovered a beautiful loot in August in Paris, "in the apartment of a rich designer to steal 70 luxury handbags with a total value estimated at 800,000 euros".

Their next target should have been an international footballer who plays in a Yvelines club, specifies BFM.

The suspects were brought before the prosecution on Wednesday and were taken into custody.

On the pitch, it was just as tumultuous for the Highland player.

Left on the bench against Perpignan, Russell came into play to try to unblock a badly started situation for the Racingmen, then trailing 13-14.

His 16 points scored, including a try, put his team away for an easy victory (44-20).

Enough to restore the confidence of Greg Townsend, Scotland coach, who recalled the opener on Monday to play against New Zealand next Sunday.
