A Bayern professional was disappointed, another received good news.

Munich – In view of the World Cup, FC Bayern will have to turn off numerous professionals.

Seven Munich pros alone will travel to Qatar with the German national team, and the Dutch football association KNVB has now also announced its squad for the tournament.

There was bad news for a Bayern professional, but another can be happy.

World Cup 2022: A Bayern professional is missing from the Netherlands squad, another is included

The former Bayern coach and current Bonds coach Louis van Gaal announced his squad on Friday afternoon and did without three Bundesliga professionals who were given good chances of being nominated.

In addition to Freiburg goalkeeper Mark Flekken and Dortmund's Donyell Malen, Bayern's Ryan Gravenberch is also missing.

Thus, the World Cup dream of the 20-year-old, who switched from Ajax Amsterdam to the Isar in the summer for 18.5 million euros, was shattered.

Gravenberch was not able to endanger or even displace his well-known competition in central midfield in the first half of the season, so far he has only been a substitute in his nine Bundesliga games.

Only in the Champions League did Gravenberch play twice for over ninety minutes.

The short playing times of the eleven-time Dutch national player may have been a reason for the non-consideration.

Gravenberch himself recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation, and shortly afterwards his teammate Joshua Kimmich advised him to be patient.

Unlike Gravenberch, the 67 million euro purchase Matthijs de Ligt is included.

Julian Nagelsmann only confirmed on Friday that the 23-year-old is fit again after his injury, and the central defender could even make his comeback at Schalke at the weekend.

In addition to de Ligt, Bundesliga professional Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen is also in the Elftal squad.

World Cup 2022: 17 FC Bayern professionals nominated for Qatar – two are still injured

In addition to the seven German national players, the Dutchman de Ligt and the Senegalese Mané, many other Bayern professionals were called up to their associations' World Cup squads.

France national coach Didier Deschamps nominated four Bayern players in Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernández, Benjamin Pavard and Kingsley Coman.

Right-back Noussair Mazraoui made it into Morocco's World Cup selection, while his rival Josip Stanisic will travel to the World Cup with the Croatian national team.

Left-back Alphonso Davies is included in the Canadian squad despite a hamstring tear and striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will be on target for the Cameroons.

In all probability, 17 professionals from the record champions will be involved in the world championship.
