Maccabi Haifa announced this morning (Wednesday) the return of goalkeeper Sherif Kiuf from Po'el Afula.
Kiuf was loaned at the beginning of the season to a team from the valley as part of the cooperation between the clubs.
Now, after Josh Cohen's injury and the desire to create competition in the squad, it was decided to bring him back, similar to the decision regarding the connection in Esem Zarora.
The professional manager Gal Alberman explained the matter and said: "We are happy to announce the return of Sharif Kiuf to the team's squad. Sharif played for the last season and a half continuously in Hapoel Afula and was a key figure in the cooperation between the clubs, a collaboration that led to the addition of two players to the squad in this window. We followed him religiously Sharif and his professional development and we see his return as a step forward in his development as a goalkeeper and of course a strengthening of the team's squad."
Josh Cohen is still recovering from a shoulder injury, but it's still unclear if and when he'll be fit any time soon.
Therefore, it was decided in Haifa not to take a risk and bring back Kiuf, who held the training camp with the seniors in the pre-season.
