Recap: Maccabi Haifa - Hapoel Jerusalem 0:5 (Sport1)
After the signing of Barak Behar from Red Star Belgrade and the apparent departure of Omer Atzili to the Emirates, Maccabi Haifa is determined to keep Dia Seba, the star of the second half of the past season, at the club. On Wednesday, the champions received good news when it emerged that Samsonspor, one of the teams that wanted to sign the 30-year-old Seba, had halted talks with him.
"Yes, I had conversations with Seba, but he demanded a salary of one million euros per season. These are amounts that we are not willing to pay," said club president Yoksel Nativeim. "There are players who make exaggerated and absurd demands, and we have no intention of capitulating against them. The money we have to pay, we will invest in upgrading the existing players in the squad."

The contract Seba signed with Maccabi Haifa in the January transfer window for three and a half years, including exit clauses this summer for teams in the Turkish league or the United Arab Emirates. Seba's agents are concentrating their efforts on searching for a group in these countries, where he made a positive impression in previous terms, but so far there is no high enough offer.
Seba has been one of Maccabi Haifa's top performers since joining in January. He scored six goals and assisted three in 15 league games.
