Beirut-Sana
The Supreme Council of Defense in Lebanon affirmed the right of the Lebanese to defend themselves against Israeli aggressions, stressing that national unity remains a weapon in the face of aggression.
"A complaint has been submitted by the Lebanese Foreign Ministry to the UN Security Council about the Israeli aggressions," General Aoun read out at a meeting chaired by Lebanese President Michel Aoun at the Beiteddine Palace. For the two Israeli attacks.
President Aoun said yesterday that the blatant Israeli aggression on the southern suburbs of Beirut is a "declaration of war" and constitutes "a new chapter of the continuing violations of Security Council Resolution 1701 and further evidence of Israel's aggressive intentions and its targeting of stability and peace in Lebanon and the region."
