Zara Snapp, co-founder of the RIA Mexico Institute, commented with Carmen Aristegui the implications of the two amparos obtained by the United Mexico Against Crime organization for the recreational use of cocaine, but not for its commercialization. Although the amparos must be ratified by a court, this decision opens the debate about prohibitionism and the right of citizens to free personality development through the consumption of other substances that until now are considered illegal. Snapp explained that with the regulation of substances such as cocaine it is possible to generate evidence and know what the trends of the people who consume them are.
