[Beijing 30th Reuters]-The Communist Party of China decided to hold the 19th Central Committee 4th General Meeting (4th General Assembly), an important party meeting in October. The state-run Xinhua News Agency reported on the 30th. The general meeting of the Central Committee has been held for about a year and a half since the 3rd general meeting in February last year.
It is expected that the conference will discuss “important issues for the development and completion of China's distinctive socialist system and the modernization of national governance”.
Last fall, the general meeting was postponed against the custom. This seems to have been due to the split of opinions within the leadership regarding responses to the US trade war and the domestic economic slowdown.
