More than 20 Czech companies are participating in the Damascus International Fair, according to the Czech news website Novinki, noting that the exhibition is taking place despite unilateral coercive economic measures against Syria.
The site's envoy to Damascus, Alex Schwamperk, pointed out that the Czech Republic is one of 38 countries participating in the exhibition represented by more than 20 companies, including Sigma, which specializes in pumps, Thames Group, which is interested in solar energy and other companies.
The delegate of the site that the participation of Czech and other countries in the exhibition comes despite US threats to impose sanctions on participants.
The 61st session of the Damascus International Fair began on August 28th, when the reserved areas amounted to 100,000 square meters, the largest area in the history of the exhibition and will continue until the sixth of September.
