The CDU won in Saxony, the SPD in Brandenburg. But how did the parties cut off in the parliamentary elections that did not make it to parliament? The results at a glance.

Neither in Brandenburg nor in Saxony, the FDP in the state elections did not manage to enter Parliament. She failed in both cases at the five percent hurdle. In Saxony, the Liberals took 4.5 percent, in Brandenburg, 4.1. And the other parties who also missed the leap into the state legislature?

In Saxony, unlike in Brandenburg, the Free Voters do not enter the Landtag. They only come to 3.4 percent. However, they have more than doubled their share of second votes compared to the state election five years ago. Behind it come only two more parties to more than 1 percent: The satirical party "The Party" won 1.6 percent, 1.5 percent of voters voted for the animal protection party.

NPD crashes in Saxony

The NPD, which had narrowly missed its entry into the state parliament five years ago with 4.9 percent, crashed and this time comes only to 0.6 percent. This is followed by the party for health research (0.5 percent), the blue party of former AfD politician Frauke Petry (0.4), the Pirate Party (0.3), the Ecological Democratic Party (0.3), the Party of Humanists (0.2), departure of German patriots (ADPM, 0.2), the Party of Reason (PDV, 0.1), the Communist Party of Germany (KDP, 0.1) and the Civil Rights Movement Solidarity (BüSo, 0.1).

The parliament of Brandenburg will in the future have more faction than Saxony. This is due to the success of the Free Voters, who move into the state parliament as the sixth party. Altogether in Brandenburg only eleven parties took up the election. In addition to the FDP made it so four more not in the state parliament. The animal welfare party won 2.6 percent of the second votes. Under 1 percent remained the pirates (0.7), the ÖDP (0.6) and the V-Party³ - party for change, vegetarians and vegans (0.2).
