A US soldier was killed by a landmine near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
Iraqi security sources told Reuters that the dead American was working on an international team of the Swiss Foundation for demining and died in a village near Qayyarah, about 60 km south of Mosul, while trying to defuse an unexploded object, but the body suddenly exploded and killed him immediately. .
