[Dubai Reuters]-Iran's President Rouhani announced yesterday that the European countries would extend the deadline for putting together measures to keep the nuclear agreement to last for two months.
However, Iran warned that it was still preparing measures that would result in a “profound impact” on failure to agree.
Mr. Rouhani had expressed his intention to further suspend the agreement by 5 September unless European nuclear consensus countries have taken steps to mitigate US sanctions.
But according to state-run television, he said, “We are unlikely to agree with Europe tomorrow. Europe will have two more months to fulfill its promise.”
Iran added that it would continue to suspend part of the agreement and accelerate nuclear development. “Stage 3 is the most important and has a huge impact,” he stressed.
