China today called on the United States to abandon its erroneous practices of unilateral sanctions against Iran and called on all parties involved in the nuclear deal to seek full and effective implementation.
"China believes that the extreme pressure exerted by Washington on Iran is the root cause of the tension over Iran's nuclear program," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a news conference.
Ying stressed that the parties should take measures towards rapprochement to ease the situation on the nuclear deal with Iran, expressing China's readiness to work with relevant parties to this end.
The administration of US President Donald Trump intensified pressure on Iran after the withdrawal from the nuclear deal in May last year and then imposed unfair economic measures on it, which Tehran responded recently to suspend some of its obligations in the nuclear deal.
