Colombian candidate Orly García is murdered

The murder of Orly García, a local candidate for mayor of Toledo in Antioquia in Colombia, adds to the 5 murders that have been recorded since the closing of the registration for local elections that will take place in October. The Defensoría del Puebla has been issuing early warnings to avoid political violence that would put the local day at risk in 122 municipalities in the country.
