(CNN) - The premiere on Sunday of season 17 of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" was difficult for Kim Kardashian West.

Not only was she upset about the drama her sister Khloe Kardashian was going through with her daughter's father (now ex-boyfriend of Khloe, the NBA player Tristan Thompson), but Kardashian West also received some disturbing medical news.

The 38-year-old reality / tycoon / wife and mother star revealed that she was having some troubling symptoms.

"I've felt so tired, nauseous and my hands are really swelling," he said. “I feel that I am literally falling apart. My hands are numb. ”

Kardashian West speculated that, based on the symptoms, he believed he could have rheumatoid arthritis, but decided to seek a professional opinion.

"It's very scary," he said. "So, I have to go to the doctor and see what happens because I can't live like this."

His doctor called with the news that his blood tests revealed antibodies associated with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, which left Kardashian West crying and "going crazy."

According to the Mayo Clinic, lupus is an autoimmune systemic disease that occurs when a person's body's immune system attacks their tissues and organs, causing inflammation that can affect different body systems.

Rheumatoid arthritis is also an autoimmune disorder that affects the lining of a person's joints and can cause painful swelling, according to the Mayo Clinic.

And although his doctor advised him that false positive results for lupus are possible, Kardashian West was still afflicted as he ordered a follow-up visit for more tests.

"I will know on Friday," he said tearfully to his family.

Kardashian West has often shared her health problems with her fans, including her fight against psoriasis and her difficult pregnancies.
