Lattakia Poultry is an important production facility of economic nature and includes two production sections, one for the production of table eggs and the other for the production of eggs and broilers.
On the reality of the facility between its Director General Engineer Bassem Hassan in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the production capacity of the facility is 30 million eggs annually and 50 thousand broilers and all production is sold to public sector institutions in addition to selling eggs directly to citizens, pointing out that the implementation rate of egg production plan in the first half of the year The current production reached 96 percent, where production reached 11.4 million eggs out of 12.5 million eggs planned production, while the production of broilers 29.4 thousand of the 20 thousand broiler planned production, the implementation rate of 147 percent.
Engineer Hassan reviewed the reality of the work of the establishment, saying: Video section consists of 20 barns production capacity of 7 thousand birds and each production is according to four cycles a year and the facility includes an altar and a room shock and freezing pointing out that the production of table eggs daily by about 70 thousand eggs on average and according to the existing herds Breeding is periodical and continuous in the white section, where a flock of two-day-old chicks is introduced every 6 months.
Hassan added that the laying section in Al-Juraimiyah site includes six production sheds in cages each accommodate 25,000 chicks, in addition to two care sheds where the chick is reared for 13 weeks and then transferred to the production sheds at the age of 18 weeks and remains in the production stage until the age of 72 weeks.
On the feed materials provided to the herd, Hassan explained that their costs rose significantly from 15 pounds per kilogram to 260 pounds, pointing out that the work in the facility is continuing around the clock through 3 shifts and the number of workers 129 workers revealing the existence of plans and studies for the development of the facility such as modernization of the automated whitening section The equipment has been provided by 60 per cent. As for the educational breeding, whose equipment is more than 40 years old, self-financing of the facility is currently undergoing a development process for two hangars where the equipment has been installed and within 20 days will be lowered chicks and start work, pointing to some difficulties in the work of the facility One of them provided production facilities at the facility.
It is worth mentioning that the prices of eggs at the institution are about 10 percent lower than the market and there are two lounges belonging to the facility to sell eggs, one in the seventh project and the other in the fish yard.
