A Customs Control officer seized a large quantity of smuggled smoke hidden inside a tank for transporting petroleum products in Aleppo province.
In a statement to SANA delegate, the head of a detachment in the police officer Basil Amoun said that the detachment monitored the tank and monitored its route, based on information received to the customs officer general about the smuggling of smoke from the Iraqi border to the Aleppo area in a tanker to transport oil derivatives.
Amoun explained that the detachment stopped the said tank and the careful examination found secret caches inside it containing more than 300 cartons of smuggled smoke, pointing out that the tank was seized and his driver was arrested and the goods were confiscated to be referred later to the competent judiciary while the owners of the smuggled goods fled and search for them is underway. .
The Homs customs officer confiscated weapons and ammunition hidden in a car coming from Daraa to Idlib countryside on the 10th of this month as part of its work to combat smuggling and tampering with the security of the homeland.
