A fire in al-Zabadani area of western Damascus countryside has burnt hundreds of fruit trees.
A source in the Damascus Rural Police Command told SANA today that a fire broke out in Al-Tekiyeh farms on the road leading to the city of Zabadani and spread over large areas of fields planted with fruit trees. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
Last July, a large fire broke out in the Zabadani plain and its mountains spread over an area of 3,000 dunums, which led to significant damage to agricultural crops and fruit trees.
