MOSCOW - Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the keenness of member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States to prevent any interference

Moscow-Sana

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stressed the keenness of member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States to prevent any external interference in their social and internal life.

"This is about attempts to influence outside public opinion and political life in almost every country, causing conflicts of every kind and leading to the dissolution," Putin said in a message to participants at a meeting of leaders of the CIS security and intelligence services in Kazan today. National traditions developed over the centuries and historical memory of the peoples and put the concept of cultural sovereignty and state sovereignty into question and violate the right of peoples to self-determination.

The Russian president pointed out that the common objective of the ASEAN countries is to prevent attempts to destabilize and interfere in the ongoing political and social processes and to secure the interests of society and the rights and freedoms of citizens.

Earlier in the day, Sergei Beseda, director of Russia's Federal Security Service, said US intelligence was involved in transferring ISIS terrorists to northern Afghanistan to destabilize the CIS border.
