Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Walid al-Moualem refuted US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's allegations of a chemical attack in Lattakia province in May.
"This is a big lie," Moualem told Sputnik, commenting on Pompeo's remarks in which he accused the Syrian army of launching a chemical attack.
An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants confirmed on May 25 that the fabricated bare news about the Syrian Arab Army's use of chemical weapons in the town of Kabbani in Lattakia countryside is only a prelude to the choir of lies and hypocrisy of the West to begin with threats and intimidation against the Syrian state. This noise will not deter it from continuing its war against terrorism.
