Tehran-Sana
The British Department of Ports and Maritime Organization announced that the British oil tanker left Bandar Abbas in southern Iran today heading for the international shipping corridor in the Gulf.
Murad Afifi Pour, director general of ports and maritime navigation in the province of Hormozgan, told IRNA: "After receiving a judicial notice this morning, the British oil tanker with its 15 crew left Bandar Abbas berth heading towards international waters."
He added that the tanker at the time of its arrest was a crew of 22 seafarers, but 7 of them had returned to their country and the tanker moved today with 15 navigators, pointing out at the same time that the judicial file of the British oil tanker is still open in Adliya Hormozgan and continues its legal stages.
It is noteworthy that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced on 19 July the arrest of the British oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz for not adhering to international maritime laws and committing many violations.
