The Egyptian Armed Forces announced today the elimination of 118 takfiri terrorists and the destruction of 33 terrorist outposts in its operations to complement its efforts to combat terrorism on all strategic directions of Egypt.

"As a result of the hostilities of the armed forces in the areas of operations, an officer was martyred and nine soldiers were injured during the clash, carrying out ambushes on roads and raiding terrorist outposts," Egyptian Armed Forces spokesman Colonel Tamer Rifai said in a statement.

The Spokesman affirmed that the armed forces and police continue their efforts to eliminate the roots of terrorism and provide security and safety for the Egyptian people.

The spokesman pointed out that the elements of military engineers discovered and detonated 273 explosive devices planted to target the armed forces on the ways of movement in areas of operation in addition to the destruction of 11 tunnels opening in cooperation with the border guards.

The military spokesman pointed to the seizure and destruction of 37 cars and 42 motorcycles without metal plates used by terrorist elements during their work in addition to the discovery and destruction of a number of bunkers and dens to harbor terrorist elements inside were found a number of weapons and ammunition of various caliber and a number of communication devices.

The spokesman also seized 50 devices used for mineral exploration as well as thwarting an attempt to illegal migration of 11071 individuals of different nationalities on all strategic directions of the country and seized 13 phones to communicate via satellite.
