Damascus, (SANA) - Syrian-Jordanian parliamentary brotherly committee discussed on Monday with Charge d'Affaires at the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus Assem Al-Ababneh the role of parliamentarians in enhancing bilateral cooperation in the interest of the two brotherly peoples.

The two sides discussed a number of outstanding issues and obstacles in the face of trade and economic cooperation and transport and the role of the parliaments of both countries in this regard and stressed in this context the role of the Committee in contributing to the development of relations between the two countries at the parliamentary and economic level.

For his part, Ababneh affirmed his country's keenness to communicate and cooperate with the Syrian government and to improve relations between parliamentarians in the two brotherly countries and to overcome all obstacles that hinder the development of economic, trade and other relations, pointing out that the history of brotherly and neighborly relations between the two peoples cannot be changed by any pressures or circumstances.

For his part, Chairman of the Syrian-Jordanian Brotherhood Committee, Nayef Taleb Al-Hariri, pointed to the aspirations of parliamentarians in both Syria and Jordan to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries, which witnessed a remarkable development recently after the opening of the Naseeb-Jaber border crossing since the Syrian Arab Army restored security and stability to the region.
