A global demonstration of the “Extion Rebellion” (abbreviation: XR, translation: rebellion against extinction) started on the 7th. In the next two weeks, demonstrations are scheduled in about 60 cities around the world, including Tokyo. In London, the birthplace of XR, there were sittings in more than 10 locations in the center of the British Parliament and Prime Minister's House. According to the London Metropolitan Police Department, 276 people were arrested by the evening.

From the morning of the 7th, London XR demonstrators laid down and sat down on the bridges leading to the Westminster area in the center, as well as on the road in front of the British Parliament and the Prime Minister's Office. In addition to those who spread the banners that say “emergency” and “when not now?” It was exciting.

On the other hand, police officers who were cracking down responded by moving participants lying on the street and preventing them from placing things such as tree seedlings on the street.

XR wants the government to: (1) tell the citizens the truth about the climate, declare an emergency, (2) make greenhouse gas emissions virtually zero by 2025, and (3) improve global warming and biodiversity. To establish a “civil council” that investigates and decides what to do.
