Russian experts and analysts: Turkish aggression violates the rules of international law

A number of Russian experts and political analysts condemned the aggression of the Turkish regime on Syrian territory, stressing that it violates the rules of international law and the principles of the UN Charter.

In an interview with SANA correspondent in Moscow today, Vadim Makarenko, head of the Regional Research Theories Faculty of Moscow State University, explained that the Turkish invasion of Syrian territory violates international law and interferes in the affairs of an independent sovereign state targeting its territorial integrity.

He stressed that no one has the right to interfere in the affairs of the Syrian people and the relations between its components and the responsibility to maintain the security of the country is an exclusive right of the Syrian state.

Makarenko questioned the American allegations about the withdrawal of their troops from Syria, pointing to the possibility that the Americans to fabricate various provocations to serve as a pretext for them to launch a possible attack on Syria.

In a similar interview, Deputy Director of the Russian Institute for Political Crisis Settlement Alexander Kuznetsov stressed that the invasion of the Turkish regime to the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic is from the standpoint of international law an attack on the territory of a sovereign state and a violation of the principles of the United Nations.

Kuznetsov pointed out that the Turkish aggression on Syrian territory is a serious blow to security and stability in the region.

For his part, Director of the Center for the Study of Contemporary Turkey at the Institute of Russian Oriental Amor Gadzhiyev that Turkey since the beginning of the twentieth century proclaim dreams of restoring the Ottoman Empire in its former borders, pointing out that the current Turkish aggression to the Syrian territory is poured into these arrogance.

He pointed to the consensus in the exchange of roles between the Turkish regime and the United States as Washington is the Turkish ally is the most important for them in the region.

The Turkish regime forces are launching an aggression on Syrian lands in the rural areas of Hasaka and Raqqa in parallel with the targeting of several villages and towns in the two governorates, focusing on infrastructure and vital facilities such as water and electricity stations, dams, oil installations and residential neighborhoods, which caused the death of a number of civilians and caused extensive damage and destruction of infrastructure.
