The Syrian and Russian coordinating bodies on the return of Syrian refugees have confirmed that thanks to joint efforts by Syria and Russia, hundreds of thousands of displaced people have returned to their areas free of terrorism as the United States, its Western allies and mercenaries continue to hinder the return of the displaced.
The two bodies warned in a joint statement today that the Turkish aggression on the border areas in the north of the country is causing the displacement of a large number of citizens and increase the risk of terrorist activity of the organization, which leads to destabilization of the region and exacerbate the humanitarian situation and undermine the progress made in the fight against the terrorist organization.
The statement called on the international community to prevent an impending humanitarian catastrophe and help the Syrian state to regain full sovereignty over the country as it is capable of organizing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the displaced and prevent the collapse of the health, infrastructure, social and economic situation in the island.
The two bodies pointed out that the joint efforts of Syria and Russia have resulted in serious results by creating the conditions for the return of the displaced to their places of residence, providing services facilities and job opportunities, and the return of students to their schools in parallel with the provision of medical assistance and reconstruction of the country's cultural heritage.
The statement reiterated that Washington and some Western countries, despite the great efforts exerted by the Syrian state for the return of all displaced people, continue to impede the return of Syrian citizens to their homeland for special purposes by intimidating them and restricting the Syrian state financially and economically, especially in the sectors of fuel, medicine and reconstruction.
The statement pointed out that the illegal presence of the United States and its allies on the territory of the Syrian state is the most important factors of destabilization and prevent the return of normal life, especially Washington's insistence on keeping Al-Tanf base for training and supplying terrorist groups fighting the Syrian state and opposing the dismantling of Al-Rukban camp in disregard of all the rules of international law.
The statement pointed out that the US side continues to hinder the end of the suffering of the residents of Rukban camp and the evacuation of those who remained, despite the recognition of all international institutions that the conditions created by the Syrian state for their return conform to international humanitarian standards.
