Dozens of fires in Tartous put out within two days

The fire brigade in the province of Tartous in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture and the Directorate of Civil Defense put out dozens of fires broke out today and yesterday.

Colonel Samir Shamma, director of civil defense in the governorate, said that 29 fires broke out today in different areas, the largest of which were fires in “Al-Suda, Al-Tuffaha, Dirti, Dam Al-Bassel and Al-Sina'a Junction.” Valiant and apple due to its magnitude.

Shamma explained that the lack of agricultural roads and the cleaning of land from weeds land and the intensification of wind contributed to the increase in the area of ​​fires and spread significantly.

Shamma added that the fire brigade worked yesterday to extinguish 60 fires that broke out in different areas of the province, the largest of which was the fire in the Yazdiya district of Minya Yahmur, which came on large areas of agricultural land.

Shamma said that the majority of fires broke out in lands planted with olive trees, some of which broke out in forested areas, with the exception of one fire that broke out in the forests of the region of Sistan last night.

In turn, the Directorate of Agriculture Ali Younis pointed out that three teams from the Directorate visited the concerned authorities in Lattakia province to put out the fires that broke out in Qardaha area yesterday.
