Catalans advocating independence for the region from Spain continued their protests for the fourth day in a row.

Catalan separatist president Kim Tora delivered a speech challenging the Spanish government in the Catalan parliament.
The clashes took place between police and separatist activists in Catalonia overnight after a peaceful march attended by thousands of demonstrators in Barcelona, while the clashes later spread to other cities, including Tarragona and Lleida.
Nine separatist leaders have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms for taking part in Catalonia's independence bid in 2017.
