The Director of the Executive Committee of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure, Jumahun Gisov, revealed today that there are more than 6,000 people on the SCO's terrorism list.
Speaking at the 18th International Meeting of Security and Law Enforcement Partner Agencies of the Russian Federal Security Service in Sochi, Sputnik said: A table for the registration of foreign terrorists containing data for more than 4.5 thousand people for the exchange of information between the security services of the countries of the Organization.
"There is a list of more than 115 terrorist, separatist and extremist organizations that prohibit their activities in the territory of the SCO member states, including Daesh and Al-Nusra," he added.
In 2018, more than 600 members of international terrorist organizations and extremist organizations were arrested, more than 360 terrorist attacks were foiled, more than 170 explosive devices were seized, and 165,000 websites containing terrorist and extremist content were restricted, he said.
Kyrgyzstan holds the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for 2019, an international organization founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, working on regional terrorism, extremism and separatism.
