(CNN) - A Georgia driver came out alive after colliding with the back of a log truck, and his car was rammed by logs that broke the front windshield and penetrated into the rear window.

Fortunately, the driver suffered only minor injuries, Whitfield County fire chief Edward O'Brien told CNN.

Apparently, the driver was crouching down to catch something he dropped when he came across the truck loaded with logs, O'Brien said.

The fire department shared the images of the scene on their Facebook page.

Firefighters had to cut between 30 and 40 logs with chainsaws before they could even begin to open the car and rescue the man, O'Brein said. After that, it took 10-15 minutes to get the driver out of the car.

Since the driver was not upright in his seat, his head ended between the trunks, O'Brien said.

"It was as if it had been designed for his head," he said.

CNN called several police departments in the area, and it is unclear what charges the driver faces.
