The technological success in South Korea is evident, as it is a country known for having fast internet connections almost everywhere. However, such success brings side effects for the adolescent population of the Asian territory. The addiction to smartphones worries the country's authorities so much that they have decided to open 16 summer camps to combat this growing scourge. Government figures show that, in 2018, 98% of teenagers used smartphones and almost 30% depended heavily on them.
