British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on his country's parliament to approve a general election

London-Sana

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on his country's parliament to approve a general election on December 12 as part of his bid to secure Britain's withdrawal from the European Union.

"The way to complete the withdrawal is, in my opinion, a logical approach to the parliament," Johnson was quoted as saying on Tuesday. This is the way forward.

A source in the British government announced yesterday that the prime minister will push for early general elections if the EU proposes to postpone Brexit until January.

The European Union agreed today in principle to postpone the date of Brexit until after the end of the month without setting a date for it, according to a European source announced.
