Alexandria Abukaram, 16, participated in the district career at Sylvania Northview High School in Ohio, but neither her name nor her time was on the results board. The young woman used a hijab that is not part of the uniform and therefore was disqualified. Abukaram told CNN that having to compete and be disqualified for something he loves was like his worst nightmare and now he wonders why he would have to sacrifice his religion and beliefs, to do something he is passionate about.
