Yerko Ljubetic is an advisor to the National Institute of Human Rights of Chile. Among its functions is to visit hospitals, police stations, barracks and to give account of the allegations of human rights violations that it says are happening in the country. What he never imagined is that one day he would have to rescue and denounce the situation of his own son, Antonio. Like Antonio's case, the NHRI counted 997 cases of injured people, 413 of them in hospitals, 24 of them with pellets, the munitions used by the Security Forces. Here some protesters report alleged illegal and "widespread" attacks by the police and show their injuries to the CNN cameras. Ljubetic says that what is being lived in the country "is a repression that goes back to us during the dictatorship."
